It’s Sunday today, and it’s time for me to check his school bag for tomorrow is another day for school. Janjan couldn’t wait for the summer vacation. He probably tired of waking up so early. Anyway, when I checked his bag this morning, one of the pockets in his bag was full of food wrappers like candies, biscuits and even junk foods. I asked him why he put it inside his bag and bring it home; why not throw it in the garbage at the school. My son replied that it was the teacher instructed them to bring their garbage at home except for the biodegradable substance like fruit’s skin and the like.
Well, I wasn’t either happy or mad because of the garbage he brought home, however, this idea of bringing home a food wrapper will just add to my work as a mother. I have tried to teach my youngest son to clean his messes inside the house like his toys scattered everywhere, but he will only do it if he is in the mood to clean and arrange, but most of the time, it was me who will clean up his messes for it is easier and less dramatic if I do it all by myself. On the teacher’s part, I guess their teacher just wanted them to be responsible for their garbage, and explaining to them the results if they just throw it anywhere. They have garbage can inside and outside the classroom and big garbage bin outside the school, but sometimes the garbage trucks overlook these garbage bins outside the school. It could be possibly the reason also why the teachers asked their students to bring their food wrappers at home so to lessen the loads of the garbage bins. What do you think?
